saturday sweets: fruity

October 8th, 2011 § 1 comment § permalink

I gained around 5 pounds since my mom came to visit from the US. And I expect to gain some more for another two weeks (she’s leaving on the 18th) if I don’t do something about it. So for the past 4 days I have not been eating rice. I’m avoiding any starchy stuff. So it’s back to my no-rice challenge and I intend to do this for as long as I can. Wish me luck.

So for now I’m content with just looking at these photos. But I don’t stare too long as my body and spirit are weak and I might just give in to these temptations. But you can stare and you can look.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

ending soon

I know what you are thinking.  You probably think I’ll make another excuse for not accomplishing an easy challenge like the no-rice challenge.  But sorry to burst your bubble.  I’m five days shy to accomplishing it.  It’s now 25 days of no rice, pasta and other carbs that ruin any girl’s diet.  And you know what else?  I really like it this way, not eating rice.  I like the feeling of eating just right.  No bloating and none of that button-popping fullness.  I can do this.  I can extend it for as long as I can.  We’ll see.

Come December, I may look as sexy as my friend Nancy….

The only problem is it took her 2 years to achieve a body like that.  And I plan to do in 5 months.  Well, good luck to me.  By the way, my friend has 3 kids and a hottie doctor for a husband.  Life is not fair sometimes.  Lucky girl!

It has been three weeks since the day I totally ditched the rice.  Did I lose weight?  Yes I did but it was a meager 2 pounds.  After all the sacrifice and sleepness nights (yes, always wanted a burger in the wee hours of the night and morning), I lost only two pounds.  My metabolism is really working in slow motion mode.  But it’s better than gaining more poundage.  Two pounds is two pounds. I can’t lose it just by sitting around and eating the way I used to.  Some sacrifices have to be made.  I still have one more week to go before I can say that this challenge is one huge success.  ’

Rice was eliminated from my diet but eggs became my new bestfriend.  Every morning, I eat eggs.  I must have eaten eggs cooked in all possible way already.  Egg is a wonder food.  So they say.  It contains all the nutrients one needs in that small package.  So eat your eggs.  Don’t believe the cholesterol thingy unless you’re really watching your cholesterol level.  But if you’re generally healthy, go have your eggs daily.
