what coffee can do to your health

Starting your morning with a hot cup of coffee makes coffee lovers get prepared and fully energized for their days ahead. Some would prefer latte, some decafs, others mochas; but whatever kind of coffee you may like, you should know what are the benefits you get from all those java.

We are aware that coffee is made of several compounds and chemicals that can affect the human body, good and health effect. Take the coffee bean for instance; this little piece of grain contains defense mechanism chemicals. Another is caffeine which serves as a stimulant to invigorate our mind. These chemicals the coffee contains are proven to regenerate one’s body.

People who drink coffee come in two categories. These are the moderate coffee drinkers who have three to five cups a day, and the light coffee drinkers who have one to two cups a day. To make it more understandable, I will enumerate the benefits of coffee from moderate drinkers to light drinkers.

According to some research, moderate coffee drinkers are significantly less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. They also have a low incidence of gallbladder diseases, cirrhosis of liver, and diabetes. Cancer diseases can also be prevented due to the antioxidant that the coffee produces. Also, coffee increases short-term recall and cognitive performance. This situation can be proven by people who are over 60 having better performance than non-coffee drinkers.

For light drinkers, it helps increase alertness and productivity, regulates blood pressure, and cleanses your body. Also, coffee is used as a treatment for headache and migraine that works within minutes! Other than that, coffee just increases your happiness due to the dopamine it gives our bloodstream.

Coffee can offer so much good things in our life. Not only you enjoy its rich flavor, but also enhance your health and wellness. Well, that makes me pour a cup of my own now.

coffee love

July 16th, 2011 § 1 comment § permalink

It’s no secret that I love coffee.  Can’t live without it.  Even before I brush my teeth, I drink coffee first.  Yuck, you may say but I can’t function without caffeine in my system.  It’s one of my great loves.  But it’s surprising that I drink only two cups a day, sometimes only one and in the morning.  Yes, I do have a cup each day.  It feels incomplete without coffee.  I don’t think of it as a necessity though.  More like a luxury or a great pleasure.

I love everything about it down to the ritual of boiling water for instant coffee or the whole ritual of making brewed coffee.
