I’ve read a lot of good reviews about Chef Tatung’s and most recent of which was Ken’s of Certified Foodies. Since he loved the food, I might as well take his word for it. And you know what, I’m glad I did.
So I called the troop and told them to dress up as we were having lunch somewhere. My son wanted Japanese food which he obviously won’t be getting that day and my little girl wanted to stay home and watch cartoons. But I told them to get their butts moving as I was hungry. They had no choice. This is just one of the perks of being the only adult in the house. They have no choice but to follow you. Or else…
So off we went to Sikatuna Village. I didn’t have any trouble finding the place. Although I’m not a resident, I know UP, Teacher’s and Sikatuna villages like the back of my hand.
We got there before lunchtime so we were the first ones again. There’s an ongoing construction at the front of the house that would soon be a parking lot for guests and patrons. So it seems business is doing good. That’s a sign that food at Chef Tatung’s is really good. And we were right.

Chef Tatung’s serves Filipino food with a twist. It’s surprising to know that Chef Tatung never went to a culinary school. He’s self-taught and dishes he serves at his resto home are heirloom recipes he tweaked a bit. So what you get are traditional dishes made even more flavorful and more appetizing.

So I have been thinking of the fact that I never go out for dinner anymore, at least the way I used to. It’s always lunch. I wonder how the dinner scene is like these days. For whatever reason, I just don’t have the time, occasion and even companion to have a nice dinner at a restaurant. And I’m not gonna lie. I miss having proper dinner not in the confines of my home or my dining area. It’s not that I find my place boring. I just want something different or new. But with a busy schedule and the reasons stated above, I don’t know when my next dinner out would be. Admittedly, I just don’t want to cook.
Looking at our photos awhile ago, I found these…

Lasagna al Forno
Prosciutto di Parma, rucola, tomato & mozzarella Pizza

I hope MG and I can do this more often. I can’t wait for summer. No school, no studying, no waking up early. And I have this feeling there’d be more dinner outs for us during summer.

It was my Papa’s birthday last Friday. He had a double celebration wherein the first one was intended for his friends and fellow tennis players. It was more of a drinking spree rather than an intimate birthday dinner or party. Most of his friends came. We dropped by too just to bring the cake and stayed for awhile to watch my brother lose a tennis match. He was probably drunk already. It was an unusual celebration. Tennis and booze. A swimming party with booze is more acceptable but with the cold weather and a swimming pool without raypak is unthinkable. We’d surely freeze to death. Anyway, it wasn’t even my birthday.
Second celebration was with the family. It was Saturday so we all decided to eat at a restaurant nearby. We wanted to avoid the weekend traffic and the weekend mall crowd so we opted to dine at Luk Foo which is just a block away from our place. We came in early so we got to choose a table. We were 13. Too bad the resto couldn’t sit us in just one table so we were given two tables.
The place is alright. It can probably sit 60 persons at any given time. The service is fast but we would have wanted that they serve the dishes altogether and not one by one. Of course, the soup came first before anything else. It was just bad that the rice came fourth which should be the first one before all the main courses. But overall, the dishes were what you can expect from any Chinese restaurant. The prices are a bit more expensive compared to Wan Chai and Causeway. So, would we eat here again? Well yeah but not very soon.

Putting a business on the Internet is just the tiny tip of the iceberg. Without aggressive online marketing techniques, your efforts will prove to be futile and your money will all go down to waste. This holds true for online entrepreneurs who waited too long before getting their website on the first page of Google and collected a thousand visitors.
You can choose to learn the hard way on your own or learn from other people’s mistake and employ Internet marketing techniques to save you time. Despite the trend, many people still do not know what Internet marketing really means and what it involves. Think Facebook and Twitter; think Squidoo and Ezine. Internet marketing is about the smart usage of social media and article submission to draw or raise traffic to your web site. Many people have been using them. It seems very difficult but if you know how to properly use these channels to promote your products and services, you will find that the word difficult is only for first-timers. Veteran online entrepreneurs either do internet marketing on their own or hire an internet marketing company that will do the rest as if running your website on autopilot.
For people who are planning to entrust their online business’ success to a third part marketer though, it is important to ensure that you work with a reliable team with good reputation and does not spell scam. Before hiring their services, perform a background check. On the other hand, people who want to save on cost can simply refer to video tutorials provided for free by fellow Internet marketers who have been there done that, and merely trying to share the lessons learned without paying any fees.
